Scrap Quilting 101
Get started on your quilting journey, or use as a refresher.
Class Description
A simple scrap quilt pattern, and lots of scraps turn into a beautiful table runner or tote bag - student's choice. Learn all the basics of quilting while completing this fun project! Students will learn about 1/4" seams, importance of pressing, and how to do binding - but most of all to just enjoy the process! Bring your own scraps or use some of mine, and fabric for the backing or lining. If you wish to create a tote bag, additional fabric is needed for handles (it can be the same or coordinating). Batting will be provided. Materials Needed: Both Projects: Assorted fabric scraps (large enough to be cut into 2.5"x4.5" rectangles), or use mine For Table Runner also bring 1/2 yd fabric for backing For Tote Bag also bring 1/2 yd fabric for lining and 1/4 yd fabric for straps This class is appropriate for beginner quilters, but students should be familiar with using a sewing machine. Open to all ages.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy: Payment is due when classes are reserved. Class reservations are not refundable. However, with at least 7 calendar days notice, fees may be applied to a different class or private lesson. Fees for cancellations with less than 7 calendar days notice will be forfeit, unless the class slot can be filled from a waitlist; your fees may then be transferred to a different class or lesson. Classes cancelled by Discovery Sewing Studio for any reason will receive a full refund, if desired, or may be applied to a different class or lesson.
